Sneeze just showed me the modeling of the lower legs. Not much tos ee, but just proof that we are working on it. It's being done by the same guy who modeled the spiker, and its not impacting the MP work team at all.

Using Jaydens concepts? Make sure it's as accurate as you can make it. And whoever uvw's it, make sure it's a good one, cuz the halowars crappy uvw took WAY too long to fux around with

I suppose I will be the one uvwing it =p. I hate uvwing it but I am good at it. Also the picture may look crappy in some spots there because I am not the best with smothing groups =p. I didn't want it to look blocky liney looking. Thats why it looks odd in some places. I am following the image refrences pretty closely and still have work to do with the legs. I gotta place a Knee cover over the knee cap and just generally touch up the whole legs.

1. He posted a ton of pictures of the model and crude skin he submitted for Phil's modeling contest a while back (the one that Scooby won and Trepdimflou was disqualified from). Any possible way you can help people with lower graphics cards to have REAL camouflage too while still having all those cool reflections and stuff, so it can be fair to the higher graphic cards....or is that impossible? O_OQuote:

@Dano I have always been asked to uvw because I have always been good at it, however I hate it =p. I should be fine uvwing it though, its just time consuming. I know what you mean on how to lay it out and have the major parts nice and big for good detail ill make sure everything that needs to be will be overlapped. Master said to keep the chess plate as one and not overlap so it looks alot better.
You got msn or aim so I can talk to you more as I go along/finnish the Armor?

spartan IIs can wear the SPI suit (as proven because Kurt wears the SPI suit during the sentinel invasion though he still had his old mark V armor) however it is highly doubtable that spartan IIIs can wear spartan II armor

Yes, agreed. Because different drugs and stuff were used with the augmentation processes, it is highly unlikely the Spartan III's can wear it. (But hey, it's science fiction. If Bungie wants the Spartan III's to wear the Mark V or Mark VI armor, the Spartan III's will wear the Mark V or Mark VI armor. They'll just say that the Spartan III's were just as strong and fast as the Spartan II's)
The only content i see for this SPI armor is some modded H1 MC geometry, with some extrusions and shit. Blah.
It's a completely custom model WOL.
Don't forget, CMT does not support and does not rip anything for their final works. (Maybe they do for object placeholders until they get the final one done, but no releases since Coagulation have had ripped content.)

Well, there's some firing sounds, a few base textures. Perhaps a skybox or two but I'm not sure. I'm not saying CMT are rippers, I'm saying not everything is absolutely 100% custom.

I should have clarified: all the models CMT uses are custom. I knew they used ripped sounds. If they did, the SPv1 campaign would have been released around now, and none of the map betas would exist.

Indeed. I still can't find the SL in Grove for some reason. And when I said "ripped" I meant that CMT designs most of their models (maybe they left some enemies from the original Halo game in there without recreating them) from scratch, sometimes not even with the original model from the game. For example, they are doing a new Phantom based off of the ones in the Halo 3 E3 commercial. (Hmm, the E3 is coming up soon, isn't it?)
We use the stock halo content, and create new and customize the old. We didn't make every little thing from scratch. Doing that would require a whole studio.
if yas want a great laser sound when the SL is firing u should look at the link gun from Ut 2004 when it's useing secondary fire, it's crazy... would work fine. hoe ever the sound ya got now is cool tho
I did say "most" and not all, didn't I? Like the enemies are probably customized from the original models.
The Lazer in grove is at the base of the water fall, under the mist.

Due to school work I haven't been able to work on the armor for almost a week. The baton is being handed over for some to finnish it up (fix up around the model, fix up the back, do arms and fix belt) then it should be ready for skinning. Since it was the first time for me to model a biped it was a bit odd, but I think I did my part fine. I should stick to guns from now and other weapons. Working on the h3 mongoose for a friend next =].

Very cool! Although I dont think the helmet would look kick ass considering it's pretty wierd looking to start off with. You can't really make it better unless CMT changes the helmet or does something to make it cool.

The only beef I have with it, is it needs more round, more subdivs' on the arms and legs. Just basically needs more poly.

A well done model at the moment, though I think that a variant of the model without all the small details and then use the detailed one to make a normal map, then bake it into the texture.
