Alky has come to an end

After long and careful consideration, I have decided to move on from
Falling Leaf Systems and am announcing my resignation effective
immediately. Cody Brocious will be taking the helm and will be
working diligently toward bringing Alky for Gaming to fruition. I have
personally become too busy with other endeavors to provide the
adequate time a position such as this demands.

Before I go, allow me to give you all an update. Regrettably, Falling
Leaf Systems is no longer working on the Halo 2/Shadowrun version of
Alky, as time and resource constraints didn't warrant its completion
in a reasonable timeframe, and other options have surfaced making a
release at this stage somewhat meaningless. Alky for Applications
will continue on, and you can expect an update from Rafael on that
front very soon.

Thank you all for your support over the past months. It has been a
fun, albeit short ride.

Damn well there goes my last shred of hope on H2 PC online multiplayer having a successful future.

The funny thing is, after the XP patches, halo 2 has been one of the top played PC games next to world of warcraft and halo 1.

The source they got was from Alky -- which joined Falling Leaf a while ago. They probably had source before they joined Falling Leaf... doesn't mean they did any work on it for a long time.

The source code (or part of it) for alky, what should have made Halo 2 run on XP. I think it's in python.

doubt it.
Most likely still needs a lot of work and talent to finish, since they never showed any proof or anything saying it somewhat worked.

Well i've read they had a lot of vista apps running on XP (some flawless some with some bugs) and they had a preview package to check it out yourself, i've got it somewhere but never checked it out. It will take some effort to alter the wowloader i guess but with the right minds and hands it may very well be possible to get it to work.
