Rails look fuckin awesome on the BR and SMG, I'll admit to that. But they really do look out of place on the shotgun tbh... at least the rigged ones do.

But really It's not really so much the rails to me as it is the "big small big small" pattern of the area that has those 0000 things on the side in h2 and h3 and the "side rails" or whatever they are

That's what I was saying. The shotgun [of Halo 3] has everything on it except a grenade launcher (and scope, but this model adresses that), and grenade launchers generally don't attach to side rails. The top is fine, I don't mind that. The sides are redundant.

BTW, what's the blade in the middle of the reflex sight for? Seems like it'd get in the way of the irons when the batteries die.
