i agree with masterz here, Bungie made it that way so it will probably stay that way, and Bungie had their reasons for it too.

Just don't reload in the middle of the fight. Keep the trigger pressed or either stop and wait until another battle.

Then whats so different for the rocket launcher? I mean surely MC could just pour the fuel into a new canister like he can rip open a sealed case put a new rocket in there and close it so it still works when he loads it in the rocket launcher.

If your complaining about the SMG then ignore that.

I don't care about the reloads, all i care about is that the SPv2 gets finished before I go to Las Vegas, which is August 6th.

The difference is that the rocket launcher is a weapon that everyone likes to use but it comes with only a maximum of 8 rounds to begin with. Your method of reloading will just decrease that number or make the player even more vulnerable. While the flamer is also a fun weapon, i doubt that people would prefer to use that instead of the rocket launcher. Also, the flamer is not in any short amount of ammo. You can hold around 4 canisters of fuel that each gives you 100 points to fire. The flamer was also very overpowered in some situations, especially in multiplayer. It all goes back to gameplay and balancing it out. Sure, you might say the rocket launcher will be stronger than the flamer no matter how you look at it, but how many times have you missed a speeding warthog with it, or a single oponent in a full server that lags? The flamethrower can just be held down with a steady stream of fire that does damage even after you stop firing.

And I dont know where this whole "the drum is vacuum sealed and there is no way in hell that it can be opened to refit other rockets" idea. Are you looking through a wiki or halo dictionary or something? If so, I would very much like to see it. It is also as much possible that the drums could just be as easily opened on a hinge and fitted with other rockets. Have you notice that ammo laying around the ground in the tan cases do not fit the dimensions to hold the bulky mid sections of the drums but rather just 2 individual rockets? Others might say that "well i dont see MC changing out individual rockets during the animations" but that goes the same with all the other weapons, and almost every other game thats been released by real publishers.

But i dont want to miss out an entire WTFsnoobage just beacause i reload. More rocks = moar Fun!
    Screw realism.
in the halo universe u cant really argue about logic/realism cause its
applied rather rarely in the game. for example: How would you explain halos weaponry that is partially even inferior to our modern day equipment. Or the Nev-r-Break vehicles-are you going to tell me scientists 500 years from now are able to design a vehicle with infinite durability, fuel supply and ammo but are unable to invent a shotgun that can hit targets in a distance grater than 3 metres accuratly. The list goes on.

The bottomline is, i wouldnt switch fun for a probably poor attempt at realism. A certain amount of fundamental logic could be advantageous tough.

yea i gotta agree with delta and noobbooze there, i'd much rather have more rockets than realism, dude, it's a game where there are superhumans wearing shielded suits that can leap 3m into the air, and they're firing weapons at spacealiens that invaded earth and halo, i see no realism there. MORE ROCKETS!
