A silenced sniper rifle reduces the effective range of the weapon as well as its total power. Since the SRS99C AM2 is an anti-materiel sniper rifle, silencing it would be pointless and defeat its intended purpose.

Besides, any good shooter (in other words, not me) might be able to take out enough covies to make it an easier job for the marines before they (the covies) have time to take cover.

It did make a difference, I would know. It will have a silenced varient, just like the other 2 weapons.
