I'm trying to make a prison level for Halo, but the poly count is just over 16000 in the main room alone. How much of a problem is this? It's three floors, if anybody is confused as to how I managed this.
Still, if that's correct, then I'm in the clear... All I know is that the map lags Wings atm, though that could just be because of the way Wings renders its models. I AM planning to have some more rooms outside the basic jail, but I wanted to see if this'd work first.
I'm kinda excited, now... I thought I'd have to chop off another floor or something (technically, it's supposed to be four floors, but I found that a tad excessive).
How well did it run in-game? I'm trying to make sure that my map will run smoothly; remember, all 16000 are on-screen AT ONCE. Will that not cause problems?
weapons now a days can be anywhere between 3.5k to 8k triangles. vehicles can be up to 8ish. levels can be crazy. as long as proper portaling is applied. i have made a map with 30,000 tris and it ran perfectly fine without portals. so keep goin then portal it. should come out fine.
