    Ok on my specs?

I'm a nub at computer stuff. I've played halo 2 for xbox for a while, and am sick of halo 3. I want to get H2 Vista, and wasnt sure on my specs, as i still have very little knowledge with vista. How well do you think it will run on my computer?

    Windows Vista Home Premium
    ATI Radeon x1600 video card
    1 gig of ram
    2.16 ghz dual core processor
    And preferably an external hardrive.

BTW, this is an iMac running boot camp.

    ~Thanks!

The iMac can run the game. The card is a bit weak on running it native res, but, it can run.

Also, on a side note, if you've come from the root of Halo Xbox and Halo 3, this game will make you puke. It's more of a downgrade. The only thing better are the graphics.

It'll run it pretty well. Don't bother putting it on high settings despite the iMac being capable of that. Halo 2 on highest settings looks only slightly better than on medium or low settings, with the tradeoff being a heavily lowered framerate.

I recommend you run at low or medium at native res.

Medium and no Anti-Aliasing is a good combo usually, especially on that card.

Although you should have 2gb of RAM, 1gb is good enough =)

It sucks that Vista sucks the gaming performance out of your computer. On XP, I was able to play the game on low with very bad specs(integrated ATI card, less than 2.0 ghz, on a computer made in 2005).

One more thing, iMacs actually use higher-clocked variants of laptop CPUs and video cards, so your computer is a little weaker than you think. Nevertheless, low settings at native res (Is it 1440x900?) is fine for H2V. Other games will run well too.

If it can run H2V then chances are it can run other popular games like Far Cry, F.E.A.R., Orange Box, etc...

Do you guys think this is a downgrade from Halo 2 for xbox? or just halo 1 and halo 3? Just curious.

I would not recomend buying halo 2 vista. You still need to pay for it. I would just get xbox live and stick with the consel if you have not already. Not many people play it nor is there many custom maps for it yet.
