Yeah, he's pretty much a remake of the guy in my avatar (which I also made) with changes to stop his armour from stabbing him whenever he moved a muscle. I'm going along the lines of a lizardesqe/velociraptor shaped head too, which is why the helmets that shape.

Oh, and Dano, it still seems that the character is 2D. Im sure once you model it that it will come out nicely because it is all up in your noodle, but until then the illusion of depth is hardly achieved.
    But it wuz a concept

I know I'm crappy at perspective and what not. I find it really hard to draw proportions correctly. I have improved ALOT in the last month if you seen my sketch book though. Really though, the modelled and skinned and UT3'd version will kick ass.

why not start with an already made render, and paint over that, that way you dont have to worry about proportions or perspective, and can just get to the actual designing and artwork.

i think it was a school assignment, the instructor probably wouldn't let him use it because then he wouldn't be learning how to do proportions, its also probably why he only painted it with the brush tool--as an exercise.

Lol, i bet dano's one of the best in the class. Or second best, theres almost always that one asshole who never got his degree but he's finally doing it and he thinks he's so awesome because he has experience in the field already so he thinks he's the shit, and always says stuff in class when the instructor is lecturing, like "oh yea maya, i remember how crappy that tool was/how well that modelling packaged worked for me!", argh

    Really well done.
I especially like the shading and detail on the tyres.

Where's the antenna in the front and rear views?

    Am I doing it right?

Stuff I that know about or has been fixed :

-Wierd black spot on the right arm in the top pic
-Top 2 pics have some bad geometry on the shoulder pads, this has since been taken care of
-Glove smoothing is off, trying to make it as clean as possible
-Lines down the mask and feet are supposed to be there, as per this
-Poly wastage on the eyes, those are getting cut down.
-Sword look like a plastic toy, not much I can do to solve that without a proper skin
-Wing triangulation isn't so great, but that was what got them to fold up the best when I rigged them.
-I also know that in the above ref pic his feet are wider; I preferred the look of the ones I have here though. If a lot of people disagree I'll change them.

triangulation on the wings needs fixing.

other wise, i can't really find much to whine about.
maybe keep the eyes to textures, instead of geometry
