METROID
Even though the Truth and Reconciliation was hovering less than 40 meters above the surface of Halo, covenant ships were described multiple times hovering in-atmosphere in the books, and the Hammer of Dawn flew just fine in atmosphere in Halo 3.
Either I misinterpreted something, or you're making shit up to sound right.
READ THIS SHIT ABOUT HALO:REACH
http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=33426706
As far as what time period it takes place in![]()
I was thinking of the books when they talk about the dangers of flying a ship ina planets atmosphere, guess ships go go either way in the halo universe, although I find it hard to believe something made of metal that big wouldn't drop like a brick. Then again, it is sci-fi![]()
Onyx was arround the time of halo 2 if i remember correctly so this was after the events of halo 1 where humans realised what the sentinels were, yes i realise halowars had sentinels but i doubt much was noted on it considering it was a single ship chasing after a wild goose.
I wouldnt be suprised if the gasses seen in halo 3 while the planet was glassed was due to the planet well being glassed, ever had a series of fires in one area before and see how much smoke drifts about?
Even IF the covenant ships were in orbit there would be little chance of actualy seeing the ships as their too damned small compared to the fucking planet their attacking.
These bombs that are going off...could be one of those bombs from halo 2 that destroyed those orbital platforms.
Planes are made of metal do thet drop out the sky like stones?
Boats are made out of metal do they sink like a elephant?
space shuttles are made out of metal do they just sit on the launch pad when launched?
No? then shut the fuck up.
Also when they say dangers of flying a ship in atomosthere they are probably more worried of bouncing off the atmosphere just like the space shuttle...for someone who talks alot about logic and being educated you sure are fucking uneducated.

I'm an idiot for not seeing how something like this
Can fly, comapared to
this?
Yeah, ask anyone with half a brain how the POA could possibly fly in an atmosphere (or SoF, even though it does). Granted, it's a series that contradicts itself at nearly every turn, so this whole "argument" about how ships can fly in atmosphere is pointless.
My theory is based on the fact,
The trailer contradicts what we've been told about glassing.
The trailer contracticts what we've been told about Covie space flight.
The trailer contracticts what we've been told about the Battle of Reach.
Either
A. They are retconing the Battle of Reach.
B. It's a new threat.
C. The trailer is not designed to be an accurate representation of what happened, and is only there to tease at the concept of a game about the invasion about Reach.
I'd say A and C are most likely, but I do think it's interesting that they would make that many mistakes on purpose, while keeping information on the game completely from the the public. All we know is that it's going to be an FPS, and it's coming out around the same time as the first of the Forerunner Trilogy. Unlikely to be a radically different game than we've played, yes. Impossible no.

That thing, flying in an atmosphere

Masterz why in gods name would they name it halo reach if it has something to do with something completly different. Bungie just doesn't name their stuff random names to fuck with their fans.
There could be another chain of event on Reach. We already know it has Forerunner sites on it. You're right, Bungie doesn't fuck with their fans, so what seems to be inconsistencies from the trailer are what make me think there is a lot more to this story than just "Covie invasion of Reach"
