In most places in the US, "middle school" refers to the 7th and 8th grades (out of 12 total), those immediately before the four years of "high school". This varies, however, between school districts. In some places, it's also referred to as "junior high".

I did already. It was better than at middle school. Long graduation, there were over 3k kids at the school.
