btw give me a straight choice between doing nothing and watching anime (one of the more sensible ones) and i'll pick the latter so it's not like i hate this for that reason alone, i hate what anime does to some people and i hate the more ridiculous ones but my beef with this is that they just look like they're taking the halo story and adding in loads of shit that shouldn't be there. if they'd stuck to the canon as laid down by bungie and/or the books, it'd be fine by me (except the obvious milking)

... so what? Seriously, that one picture can be interpreted 1,000 different ways. You've just chosen to interpret it as something unfavorable.

Here's all you can see in the image:

A green hill with flowers and a spartan standing on it; some person handing another person a mini teddy bear on a string.

Hell, it might even be symbolic for the story of the short, which we have no idea about at this time.

It's a memory. A flashback. Present-day representation of the character finds herself taken back to a memory, so you see her standing there watching it. Forgive me for this shitty reference, but it's a bit like the Pensive from Harry Potter.
