Yeah but then again, I have no idea how everybody would respond to some random bloke asking for 3D help. If I were to IM Snaf for help he'd probably be wondering who the hell I am and probably click the big red button on top of the chat screen (not personally directed at Snaf, he was the just the first person to enter my mind).

The plan sounds like a good idea, the execution of it would be a it harder than people are expecting right now. And in all honesty, this kind of deal should have a whole forum dedicated to this purpose. Something like conceptart.org

I'm sure if you explained who you were, the person on the other end would be happy to help.

Many times I've gotten IMs from members whose screennames I didn't recognize. I asked who they were, they told me who they were, and we moved on to business. As teh lag has said, unless the timing isn't great, I'm happy to help those who ask.

Let's put it this way. If you want to learn art bad enough, you will go through our mud pit. I think most people on this forum are caked in mud at this point.

Horrible analogy, but I hope you get the point.

for a forum like CA.org to actually function though, there need to be people who are actually capable of helping others. unlike on this forum, where there's at most 5 people familiar with any single subject at one time.

face it, if you want to be spoon-fed everything you need to know, go to school, or find someone who's willing to put up with teaching you.

Frain don't drag random bullshit into the thread. It was a private conversation, if I wanted that posted I would've made a baww thread.
You have your opinion, I have mine, but I still get so much more out of other sites that are much more professional and actaully act like normal humans with social standards and criticism politely, they don't "sugar coat" they tell you what is wrong, but encourage you to move forward.
I don't even know why I am saying this, you all have had your views of criticism like the way done here as the correct way for so long, that you believe it is the proper way and you're helping people, but you're not, and don't pull the real world bullshit. You never answered my question frain, answer it over pm, why do you model then, if not for fun? I rarely post my work on here anymore, because when I did the whole thought process in my painting was to create something that looks good so I wouldn't be yelled at. That changes it from a passion to a mindless habit as a gambit to be accepted. But then again, this is just my opinion and I could be delusioned that mine is the right way when yours is actaully correct, too bad we'll never know. But frain, if you're so insulted over my opinion that you remove me and try to "denounce" me, it's obvious you need to understand tolerance for other people, another reason why I think modacity is going backwards, not forwards.

Failure in your eyes is a success in mine. Ganon, you're a cute troll and all, but you try too hard.

That's nice to know, it still applies, have tolerance.
Still have not answered my question though, why do you model then?
Quit avoiding it, I am generally interested to know.
