After two painstaking hours we managed to get the elephant to the part where the scarab damages it. He decided to start shooting the elephant for god knows why, which then caused it to go into a loop of Dare and Vergil dieing, reverting to checkpoint which was just before, and them dieing again, and so on. Is it just coincidence that the second (and last) time I tried to get Deja Vu without him, we made it? And the exact same thing goes for Endure. First time I tried it with Advancebo, we lost. Second time I tried it without him, and we got the achievement.

Now to figure out how to get Recon.

I've seen youtube videos regarding it, but haven't seen it happen myself.
Saw a video where the same thing happened, and they were able to fly around the ship interior in free camera.
Dont you have to have just played ODST for the first time, since none of the Firefight maps are unlocked?
There are default firefight maps that you can play at the very beginning.
go to you Bnet profile and under "achievements" there will be a banner "road to recon" click the "unlock recon" link and when you go to play halo 3 mp you'll be able to use it
