Pretty much agree with the above post. It's super easy to unlock flares, but prepare to be shot down 10 times before you even hit anything with your cannon. All you need to do as aircraft is get the feel for it and the controls. Then start attacking things. You'll get support points for helping destroy vehicles and taking objectives. These will push you up right away. In fact, with the helicopter, all you have to do is cap a single flag point ONCE and you unlock flares right there. 200 points is all it takes. As soon as you unlock flares, survivability shoots up at least 40%. The rest is on you to keep out of the line of sight of stingers. Not much you can do against heatsinking sidewinder missiles, though. Just use flares and then get back at your enemy as best you can.

hey speaking of things I love about BF3

I'm not MVP but have a look at my kill count compared to everybody else's kill count. This is all from heals and revives and a few captures/netrualizes. suck it k/d whores

lol, I once got the top score in BC2 with zero kills, as medic.

They did nerf the medic abilities to some extent (can't be infinitely revived, small delay when actually doing a revive, ability to reject revive), so it's not as annoying as in BC2 where you would have medics spamming their defibrillators even when it's the worst time/place to do so. I once ragequitted a BC2 game after a medic insisted on spam-reviving me when I was almost out of ammo and he ignored my constant yelling at him in the text chat to let me respawn normally.

i sometimes feel like i might be that medic in BC2... ill revive somebody then theyll die within seconds, but its usually because they run straight into the enemy fire. ive wizened up over time and now attempt to clear the area as best as i can before i rez anybody, and cover them as they get back up, but they seem to have no less difficult a time of getting themselves killed.

i often wonder how much of that is bad medicing...

You do realise that the bad revives are deliberate point farming, right? When I play medic, I tend to hang back and dish damage from afar. If I see a beating cross, I'll start making my way over there to issue a kit and revive people. Since the enemy is moving towards me, I usually get them before reviving, and all is well.

And then we have situations like Métro. You have a big-ass Charlie Foxtrot firefight, and the medics just sit there having a field day with revives, not giving a thought as to whether or not it is appropriate to do so. This happens most on Arica Harbour, Panama Canal, and Laguna Alta. This is where I say "fuck it" and start herping around with the Carl Gustav.

oh. well i never did it for point farming. i get a tremendous rush being able to bring people back to life for some reason, to the point where ill jump out a window, run across a street, and bring a guy back to life, then proceed to kill the guy who killed him. i always did it purely with the intention of helping the team, even though i can look back on several instances where it did not help the team.

sometimes ill steal a dead medic's kit and revive him with it. thats always fun

Even better: After getting injured while killing an enemy medic, take his kit, drop a health pack, then immediately retrieve your own kit. It's even better if killcam is on

Tactical Sun nerf incoming. Demize99 tweeted two pictures to show the difference. You can actually see the player behind the light, now.

Check out these before and after pics:

Glad to see Godlight getting nerfed a bit, although imo it seems like being HOLY SHOT LOLHUEG is the only way to make it useful for anything but completely giving away your position.

Not that I'd prefer it that way or anything D:
