Have you tried the various tweaks that have been posted on the internet? Personally, I didn't gain any more FPS by tweaking even by setting the Multi-CPU option to 1. I have an i7 and other people report huge improvements on their quad-core CPUs. Maybe it's because I have a mobile i7 CPU instead of a desktop one, I dunno.
