The gun in the helicopter on BF3 can RAPE tanks in a few shots (unlike the one in BC2), and the AOE damage of the thing is insane, on top of that, add to the fact that the bursts last twice as long or longer than the bursts in the BC2 heli.
Not to mention there's hardly any bullet drop effect on the cannon rounds.
