    Windows Live and Xbox Live

Okay, so i bought a 12-month xbox live gold card. I dont have a 360 yet (waiting for the Halo 3 edition), and i was wondering if i could use that card and get 12 months of Windows Live, and after i make an account, if i could use that same one on xbox live. Or would i have to wait until i get my 360 and use it for xbox live, and then login that profile in windows live?

Yes you can. I migrated my Xbox Live Gold account to games for windows live and it works fine I even maintained my Gold status. So I can't see why it wouldn't work going the other way.

You can use a gold subscription.

A LIVE account can be used on any Live platform, mobile device, Vista, Xbox, Xbox 360, etc. Basically, you can sign up for a gamertag on Xbox Live's website, and then go to your friends house, sign in on his 360, go back home, get on your PC, etc, etc.

Live is universal for it's platforms it pertains to.

Btw, when you get a 360, you'll have a 30 day free trial to Live, I do believe.

Don't waste your subscription on games for windows live. Its not even worth the free trial. Wait until halo 3 comes out, then activate your subscription so none of your 12 months get wasted on absolute crap. You can then use gold on the PC as well, only to discover that it would be a waste if you didn't have a 360.
