heh, try running Vegas. Hell, even I wouldn't spend $500, but that's what it takes for the new games coming out. Just look at End War for instance. You can tell from the trailers alone that it's going to be a preformance hog. $200 is suficient for some 360 games (nvidia7950/ATI1950) but will eventually become insuficient.
