    ---------------------FORUM LOCKDOWN---------------------

I've had enough of the fanboys and flames and bullshit that goes on here. Forums are on lockdown until next wednesday. If a CMT member wants to post an update, they will, but all threads are to be remained locked. If you make a new thread, or open and post in a thread that's been unlocked by another user, it will be swiftly moved to the trash where the admins and real mods will deal with it if they please.

    See you all next wednesday.

    Re: FORUM LOCKDOWN.

Oh, and if you bother me about any of this on instant messenger or PM, how "unfair" how "mean" I am, or even if you want "new" CMT mod info, you're getting a swift blocking. I can't speak for the other team members, but we're all fed up with being bothered by fanboys.

    Re: ---------------------FORUM LOCKDOWN---------------------

This is a bold move Masters is taking, and I'm supporting it 100%. The (sad?) truth is that it isn't CMT which is the problem on this forum, but it is the baggage CMT carries with them. The dumbass, retarded fanboys are the problem which has been haunting them ever since they went public with their CMT SP release last year. Anytime you go public, you're always going to have some people who have IQs below room temperature. This was made even worse by the fact that CMT was actually asking for public input on what they were doing, so all of a sudden there was a bunch of sucking up to the "big guys". Look, you might think you are helping CMT with your suggestions and "oh, that looks amazing!!!" compliments, but the truth is that all you're doing is killing them.

A lot of hate for CMT by the senior members is not because of the team, but because of the community surrounding them. While some if it is related towards the decisions Masters has made, a lot of it is not; and even more importantly, a lot of the decisions made have been influenced by the community. He wants to appeal to the masses. Unfortunately, the masses who wish to play their content are people who do not understand the first thing about development and quality content. This aggravates the people on the higher end, and as a result, you get hated by those who can reason and can lead. On the other end, if you don't follow through with the lame "demands", then you have an issue with the little bickering that goes on and the constant repeat threads asking for something to be improved. You could say that Masters is the ringmaster and can simply delete all threads/posts opposing him, or can just follow or not follow through. However, the first option takes a ton of time and will not solve anything, and the latter of the two will just generate more hate, which will then lead to more threads.

The bottom line of all of this is that the fanboyism needs to stop - right now. As much as you might not believe, being critical and relating to other similar mods actually HELPS them. Telling them that one thing is too close to another thing, or that one thing is not nearly as powerful as another thing which is very similar is what they WANT to hear. Another thing is to keep threads CONDENSED. If there is a thread already in existence with even a REMOTE connection to your topic, then post it in there. Suggestions which are rip offs of other games (Halo 3) or just don't make any sense (dual Energy Swords) aren't welcome the slightest bit. Public opinion polls I'd say are perfectly fine, just as long as the choices are black and white (clearly stated). Posts which have poor grammar, cannot use periods properly, and cannot capitalize "I" when used as a proper noun will be warned. Threads which are created about the same thing will be locked and warned with a noob warning.

As I said before, while most of the blame can fall on the community, some of it still goes back to Masters. For instance, when the community is actually complaining about how much you are shitting all over the campaign, you should LISTEN, ESPECIALLY WHEN THE COMPLAINTS COME FROM HIGHER UP. Had you done this all along, many of the conflicts probably would have been completely avoided because you would have had our support, so then we would never be in the situation we are in now. THAT is the reason for the negligence in this area - hoping to get through your head that a lot of choices you make which are NOT influenced by the community are fucking everything up. Maybe now it's worked now that you are taking some steps, or maybe you're just trying to get people to shut up with their complaining because it's not what you want to hear.

Actaully, I was planning on keeping us on lockdown a bit longer. Based on the 2008 topic, people STILL don't understand how to post.
