I actually preferred MC stabbing with the Spiker (Like in the CMT maps) over the Halo 3 version. Stabbing just made it seem... More spikey. Somehow.
Spartan Laser needs some work, mainly the firing seems too fast, and there's no beam in this build (D=). If you're going to keep the Spiker melee, move it down some.

CMT also made the Spiker when you got hit with the spikes you died in one hit which was realistic.

and how is it realistic that 2 tungsten blades would pierce through a fully armored ENERGY SHIELDED suit of armor, with only a minor stab?

They aren't spikes; they're heavy, curved blades that look like the lovechild of an axe and a scythe (neither of which you 'stab' with).
