hey, i'm just following concept, and a high res needs stuff to project onto a normalmap, or you might as well not have one at all. making tonnes of little "üseless" details is more or less the whole point of it.

mini tutorial:
make box, delete half of it.
apply symmetry, put the mirror in the middle, where you cut it in half along the seam.
go back down to editable poly in your modifier stack.
hit the "show end result" button.
done.
