I take back what I said earlier.
After learning a great deal more about the background of the situation, I realize that I just came off as whiny and annoying.
The truth is, I was talking out my ass. It was around midnight here, and I haven't slept in a while.
Also, I've seen other forums where moderators started abusing their power, and I thought I saw the same thing here.
Of course, considering what leet said, it's kinda impossible for an admin to abuse their power, since they can do anyhing >_>
[ot]Contrary to what you might gather from my wtf thread, I actually agree with Aerowyn, to some extent, anyway. It may just be my mind getting biased, but it really seems to me that right around the time Aggy got banned and I and a few others got all bitchy and p0lar joined the admin team, there's been some decent moderation going on here. I've been seeing more appropriate infractions and actual warnings on threads instead of outright locking, and I view Ross getting banned as a step in the right direction away from the conspiracy of high rep invulnerability (although I do hope Ross returns someday, with a cleaned-up act).
addendum: Oh and in response to the limitless power of the admins mentioned since I started typing this, sure the admins have the right to do whatever the fuck they want to. And we all have the right to get pissed off about it and leave, that's my point.[/ot]
That said, I do still have a rant. I used it all up verbally tho =(
I hate things that don't work. The fact that I love things that do work, like cars, and Firefox, and Linux, goes the other way too. I fucking hate things that don't work the way they're supposed to, even though huge expensive corporations are responsible for them. Internet Explorer- come on for god's sake, MS is one of the most valuable companies on earth, you'd think they could at least produce a product that complies with standards. "No, we're Microsoft, we're above the standards, we set our own standards." FUCK. YOU.
But what really got to me lately is XBox Live. I can't change my billing information because there's a fucking bug in their fucking billing system. I do not want a service that has my credit card information and automatically bills people to have a bug in its billing system! FUCK that, man.
Also, what's with Indian tech support? I have nothing against Indians, but the fact that when I called tech support yesterday and had to continuously rephrase myself because the person I was speaking to did not understand the English words I was speaking really pisses me off. And wtf is with these fake names? *thick Indian accent* "Hello, my name is Carl. Let me transfer you to Mark, who has an even thicker accent than me." Oh great, so now the tech support guy is lying to me to make it easier to get the call over with? What else is he lying about to make the call easier to get over with?
But here's the kicker. I spent a total of 2 hours on hold, and spent 30 minutes spelling out my gamertag, address, and e-mail address to this guy so that he could tell me a bunch of shit I already knew, and then get offended when I told him "I know that already, that's my problem- I can't do that!" And then he finishes it off by telling me to go to some website and follow some complicated procedure that takes ten minutes so that he has an excuse to end the call while I fumble about online only to discover that I get EXACTLY THE SAME FUCKING PROBLEM THERE BECAUSE IT IS PART OF THE SAME FUCKING SERVICE. So today I get to spend another two hours on hold.
Anyway, in closing, fuck shit that doesn't work.

Aside from it being completely irritating, theycould havewould have been banned for insubordination if they refused to follow order. Regardless of whether there is a rule for something or not, you must do as you are told or risk facing the consequences.

That is an outright LIE.
I have NEVER had an argument with Ross ever, and me and him talk on xfire all the time. If ever we disagree on something, we're both very diplomatic about it, and respect the others opinion, and we look at it from the others pov. Infact, he shows me his cool work before he shows anyone else, and I'm going to actually skin some of his weapons. Plus the fact that hes my aussie brother from another mother.
I think the world of that guy, and I'm downright positive he would not say such things to you about me.

I was getting annoyed at all the people whining in that thread about Nazi moderators, but now I'm almost positive something is amiss.
I love this forum, and I respect the moderators actions, and never ever go ancy and disputing of them. But that chunk of zephs post seems like a subtle attack on me. Call me paranoid.
ye i was kinda surprised to see that too, i shrugged it off as a little mix-up.
I've gotta say that I'm truly fed up with all the kids on this forum talking like they know everything when they know nothing, and all the whining they do about every little thing. Start being constructive members or get the hell out.
