Agreed. I know that the Smart AI weren't extremely rare, but having this AI is making Cortana less impressive. Dr. Halsey is still around, so Cortana isn't even there yet.

Who's the "they"? If by "they" you mean the author, I think he can think up some crazy solution to get them out of there. If by "they" you mean characters in the story, then yeah they're fucked.
