As the last HCEL was pretty much a horrible disaster... I've gone out of my way, with help and guidance from others such as Rams, Bacon, Addict, etc to recreate the HCEL rules hoping that it will provide a better system for this league to run a lot more smoothly and end nicely. The rules have been change quite a bit in terms of the actual matches and how the games will be played (point system introduced, see rules for more details) so read through the rules (underneath) and let us know what you think.
I would really appreciate it if everyone gave this a lot of thought and really consider to be apart of this event for one last time as Halo CE is pretty much in it's VERY last days for sure now. If everyone could spread the word and try and dig up some old schoolers for this event it would be very much appreciated. I have chosen to do this because I believe that "good things deserve happy endings".
Please let us know if you are interested so we have a fair idea if we should go ahead with this or not. Our main concern is that people won't be willing or say that they "haven't played in ages" so they would be reluctant to play. I also understand that many of you are extremely busy with work or schooling so that's fine but really... please try not to give up on this. It will be the last HCEL event to be carried out so just think of all the old times on CE and the great fun that can be had if we get enough support for people to come back for the very last one.
Here are the rules updated by me and help from Rams, Bacon and Addict:
Thanks from Rams, Bacon, Addict, and myself. Sorry if I forgot to mention anyone.HCEL – Halo CE League Tournament (08-09)
Submitting Rosters;
Each team can have as many players on the roster as they wish; this ensures that each team has enough players accounted for that they cannot possibly have an excuse for not having enough players for their league match. The minimum amount of people on the roster is to be four people.
-The deadline for submitting rosters is; still to be confirmed
-The deadline for adding and removing players is when the first game of the league starts.
To register your roster, you must send your roster information to address; hcel@live.com
When Submitting Rosters;
Please make sure your email is like the example underneath, so it is easier for the admins:
Email Title; HCEL – [FBI] team roster
Body;
- Player
- Player
- Player
- Player
And so on. You do not need to list backups or who will definitely be playing most of the matches in different lists, just list all the players that can play whether it be once, all the time or never, for your teams sake.
To remove/add players simply title the email as [FBI] remove/add (for example).
Every individual player can only be in one team. Each team must make sure that their teams tags do not replicate or look extremely similar to another.
Banned Tags: HCEL, SPEC, REF (Must be reserved)
Matches;
1 – Matches must be planned and organized by teams, in their own time, first in best dressed (whoever asks to use the server first, gets to use it when they need to).
2 – Games must be played with an even amount of players on both sides; e.g. 5 - 5 (least amount is 3 players on each team)
3 – If on game day a team is missing platers or etc the opposite team must cut a few in order to play otherwise the team short must forfeit. However if both teams agree to re-schedule then admins must be notified ASAP.
-Please try to be organized
4 – You are allowed to add players before the game starts. However once the game has started, you cannot add people into your current game, common sense. This applies to the start of all matches played in your verse against the other team. Example; first game you have 4 people, game starts, people cannot join whilst playing. Second game, before start you may add more players if both sides agree or if they can, and so on. (Players must be on the roster, no free agent policy)
5 – Once the league matches start you cannot add more people onto your roster or let people who are not on the list play in your games. People not on the team’s roster will be kicked and the team penalised. If this happens the team may still play their matches but points will be deducted from that particular game that the incident happened in. (This is why you are recommended to stack your roster before the league starts.)
6 – Teams and team leaders must be cooperative in helping organize the matches.
7 - Spectators are welcome if people would like to watch. Admins must be notified as there is limited space in the game and not everyone can join.
8 – Filmers would be greatly appreciated; we would like to have 2 – 3 filmers at the most. One editor is suggested but not required.
9 – All games against another team will consist of 3 matches (at least one match out of the three must be a different gametype; for example, 2 ctf's must then have a slayer) .
10 - You play every team, and only once (once being 3 games per team)
Maps;
1 – Maplist will be posted when completed.
2 – Each games map and GT will be decided by the teams. Game one; map and gt is picked by one of the teams, second the other team picks, third they both decide on. Teams must be prepared and have all maps in their directory.
In-Game Rules;
1 – Hacks; If you are caught cheating you and your team are banned on the spot. No questions asked, even if it’s your friend, brother, whatever. It is your responsibility that your teammates are not cheaters and will play fair. The only exception is YeloBattery. If you have any questions regarding a certain hack, please don’t hesitate to ask an official.
2 – Anything goes in game, however no camping in secret places (top of maps, pushing out of barriers, etc)
3 – Please keep the game civil. No one under any circumstances may insult the opposing team purposefully (Unless it is known to be playful) – the offending player may be subject to ban, if multiple players then the team may be DQ’ed. Swearing is fine as Halo can get frustrating. However, don’t flood the chat swears as you will be warned and kicked from the game if you continue.
4 – Keep the complaining to a minimal, if you have the suggestions or concerns, please contact an admin.
5 - At the end of each game you must supply a Post-Game Carnage report (screen shot) of the results before everyone leaves for point tallying and must be given/pm'd/xfired whatever to an Admin (Ducky, Bacon, Addict; more admins will arise shortly)
Game Setup (inc point system);
1 - Teams earn points for playing matches regardless of if they win or lose. The amount of points you earn in a match is determined by two factors – the result of the match and the number of people on each team. Winning the match earns your team the same amount of points as there are players on your team. The losing side earns their points half of this total.
4v4 = 4 points for a win, 2 points for a loss
5v5 = 5 points for a win, 2.5 points for a loss
6v6 = 6 points for a win, 3 points for a loss
2 – Gametypes
CTF:
Flag at home to score
3 Caps
20 minutes Time limit
CTF Assault;
Forced Flag
No hogs in base (camping on RL gunner inside base)
5 Caps
20 minutes Time Limit
Slayer:
50 Kills
TK On
20 minutes Time Limit
KOTH:
10 minutes
TK on
Moving Hill
20 minutes Time Limit
Oddball:
10 minutes
TK on
One ball
20 minutes Time Limit
Killing specs, admins, and refs is prohibited.
All three games must not be the same GT. However two of the same in the three is allowed.
3 – Breaks; in between each game there will be time for people to go on bathroom breaks, lunch breaks and etc. Games can commence straight away if both teams insist on it.
Bonus points;
1 – CTF Games; Every cap will result in the team being awarded an extra point. Example, four players on each team, Team A wins, 3 – 1. Team A = 7 points, four players 3 caps... Team B = 3 points, loss (half players) and 1 cap.
2 – Slayer Games; If the games are close, example; 45 – 50 or anywhere between, then the loosing team will be awarded an extra 1.5 points. (five kill difference, even if 50 kills are not reached)
3 - KOTH; If the games are close, example; 9 minutes 30 secs to 10 minutes or anywhere between, then the loosing team will be awarded an extra 1.5 points. (thirty second difference, even if 10 minutes is not reached)
4- Oddball; If the games are close, example; 9 minutes 30 secs to 10 minutes or anywhere between, then the loosing team will be awarded an extra 1.5 points. (thirty second difference, even if 10 minutes is not reached)
No Overtime;
1 – CTF Games; If both teams have not been successful in getting a cap, both teams are awarded the same amount of points, which is based on how many players are in the game. (See point system)
2 – If for some reason after the three matches have been played the score is tied, it does not mean there must be another game. It is not an elimination system; the winner of the League will be the Team with the most overall points.
3 – Once all games have been played and there is still a tie for first position, another set of 3 games will be played by the tied teams. Therefore the team with the most points will be the winner.
Offenses;
The following offenses will result in a kick from the game (as in you can’t return to the match) and can result in a disqualification from the league depending on the offense.
Kickable Offense;
-Killing admins, refs, specs, basically anyone who isn’t on either team on purpose
-Botting, wall hacking, any type of cheating will be an automatic disqualification and points for the game with that person in there are voided, other team keeps points based on players
-Switching teams to disrupt the game -Having more than 6 players on a team (having one spec is fine if there is room)
Warning;
-Flooding chat
-Suggesting cheating (should be common sense)
-Picking a fight with another member (joking is fine)
This should all be common sense. Referees mainly, but League officials in general will keep track of these offenses. If you feel that an official is being bias, unfair, ect. Please take it up with one of the top league admins which include Ducky, Rams and Bacon.
Your League Admins Include;
Ducky
Rams
Bacon
Addict
Edit: Also to [KOD]Justin for the HCEL Server and Vent.
