So either way we'll end up with a deformed, disgusting monster?

I say keep it in, unless there's something else very important that you'd be taking out. If you could do the things that Arteen suggested, then that'd be great, but if not, then that's good too. Anything to add more variety to the Flood is a good thing.

The flood head of the brute grew out of the throat/mouth. That might be rather difficult to model. Just contort the head back a little bit and make it fumble and add the flood head in the chest.

My main question is : Given that these would just be a novelty and wouldn't add much to gameplay, and given that I can't do much with the model if I keep the old skin, is this worth trying to get ingame (which may not even be possible) or should we just drop it here? Any additions or changes that could be made to make this less of a cheap halomaps kid edit would be much appreciated.

PLEASE KEEP THE CONDITIONS OF MY LAST LAST POST IN MIND.
If it's not going to add anything to gameplay, and you don't think you'll be able to make it much prettier (read: less fur, more necrosis) then I wouldn't bother.

But if you could make them climb walls or ceilings, that might make shit crazy :o

    Re: Pardon Our Dust.

My suggestion was to have the brute flood an entirely different class of flood. Like somehow the infection causes a permanent berserk mode, where they're running on all 4's. The player would have to wait till the opportune moment to kill him, I.E. when they try to jump at him. They would attack in groups of 4's so that would demand the players immediate attention. I thought it would dynamic twist to gameplay.

That would never work though with the amount of tagspace a whole new animation graph would require. Not to mention, new model and colli models are already going to be a problem if we do brutes, since flood forms have very large models and collisions, due to regional damage.
