I was running lightmaps for a Halo CE level.
Took 9 FUCKING HOURS.
It would have finished in about 5 minutes, when all of a sudden, Windows restarted for NO FUCKING REASON.
I didn't save.
It turned out that Windows Automatic Update had downloaded some fucking updates and installed them even though I told it not to.
Yes, now I KNOW my copy of XP hates me.
FUCK YOU WINDOWS.

Maybe let it run overnight?
This is why I always have Windows Update to check for Updates, but not download them until I say so.

Instead of running lightmaps again and wasting time, its MUCH faster to bake them in 3ds max using that tool that was released earlier.

Yeah, I have it set the same way, but it downloaded anyway, and restarted without warning. Now I remember why I hate Windows.

You hate what you don't understand how to use? If it's set up correctly there is no way it will automatically restart without your permission.
