I never really liked how all of Halo's UI's (excluding the first) had that blue tint, it looks 10x better without it imo

Its a script that sets a desired effect over the screen, so yeah if some people liked the blue, there would need to be 2 versions

The blue is necessary for the UI. I'm really not joking. Because of the low detail and lack of textures, it's needed to obscure the slacking.

If those artefacts are meant to be "cool" or something, they really aren't.
Or is it just terrible compression?

I think it'd be cool if the menu was all clean, then it just flickered to that static every so often.
