I think people here need to learn to respect other peoples work, especially when they have no idea of the skill that person has, and ESPECIALLY when they have been doing something longer then the other person.
Even then, when a person has just started, we must show respect to their work, and critique in a polite manner. I could care the fuck less if you do not like my style, stop looking at my art then, but NEVER assume that the person does not have the skill to go beyond what they do. Art is a choice and is a freedom to express how I want to see the fucking world, real or not. I find it less and less appealing to post in this forum because the negativity towards people and differencing opinions, and harsh, uncalled for comments. Grow the fuck up people.
Moving onto you josh.
Josh you are extremely cocky. You painted an existing character with a probable reference, and to be honest it is great for a first time tablet painting, but it still is not anything amazing. Do not ever assume that someone can not paint right, because in the end you might just get your ass kicked.
To prove this I just did a 45 minute sketch of a barbarian without references:
It's not meant to be viewed this large, as it loses some composition, but oh the fuck well. It's only meant to prove a point, that if I wanted to take the time and effort to paint, I could and can create "un-sloppy" pieces. I prefer to explore and learn my own things though, so quit busting my ass over having fun.
