I'm hoping the Elites will have separate permutation customization. I'm getting a vibe that you'll only be able to choose entire armour sets for them judging by the different arm and leg permutations which, so far, the Spartans seem to lack as well as the lack of extra permutations for separate armour pieces.

Um what. What you see in the beta is very few. They have a ton more options when the final game comes out (talking about spartans, dunno on elites).

I remember them saying that elites will only have armor sets when they announced the Limited Edition elite armor.
Since the spartan/elite mp system is not the same as in 1/2 and you can't choose to play as one, I'm not surprised.
