    Re: red dead redemption

Ordered a copy today. Watched some video reviews and it sounds like something that could keep me entertained for more than long enough to justify the expenditure. Only sucky part is living in a small town where you have to specifically order it and wait for a week 'cause it isn't in stores. Other sucky part is it'll probably arrive before my PS3 does

I bought myself a copy just the other day, game is awesome so far. I was on my way to a different town to do a mission and I see someone out in the middle of nowhere who told me he was stranded and needed a lift back to town. When I got too close to him pulled me off my horse and tried to take off with it, but I shot him in the head. Good times.

Just beat it, I can honestly say it was the most enjoyable gaming experience I've had in awhile. The game has it's glitches, but overall it's an amazing experience and an achievement on it's own.

Don't open below if you don't want to be spoiled.
I loved the ending, the way they wrap it all up is phenominal and really makes you feel like these characters lead lives of their own. I've never seen such depth to the characters in a video game. The last few missions where you're basically living life on the ranch and teaching your son how to hunt and be a rancher was icing on the cake. They leave the world open to so many more possibilities by giving the player control over Jack, and the final duel before the credits was overwhelmingly satisfying.

The voice acting, music, animations, environment, and character development in this game is great. If you don't have it you're missing out on something awesome.

I love hog tying people from random towns and dropping them on train tracks, or feeding them to bears, great fun.

Also, posting this from my iPhone!

Alright I've heard good things about this game and I think I'm gonna get it, but I wanna know: What sort of replay value does it have? Is it similar to GTA in that you can still have fun messing around after you beat it, and is the multplayer good?

Worth the 60 bucks or just rent it?

VERY worth the 60 bucks, if not just for posse-ing up with friends and doing shit. The singleplayer is very enjoyable, too. There's a definite "darkness" about some of the missions(Flowers for the Lady for example). I haven't gotten very far myself but this definitely is gonna be a relatively quick run through, opposed to my long and drawn out runs through the GTA series.
