No, it really doesn't work unless the other team are complete morons. Try playing on servers that aren't shitty and see how many people you fool with your ~disguise mind games~. The only way to do it is to kill them before they see you. The less you try to rely on disguises the better you'll get as a spy.
fake edit: the exception is disguising as friendly heavies with the dead ringer, which is just hilarious and can piss snipers off to extreme levels, I've been kicked off servers for doing it![]()
Given the whole point of the spy is to outsmart other players, I think it's a given that you're mainly going to be killing people that are dumber than you. With that said, no one's acting like you can just run around a map pretending to be an enemy for long periods of time. The point of the disguise is to give you that critical 1 more second before people start shooting at you.

uh, no. You cannot say that someone is unintelligent just because they see a disguised spy and do not realize it immediately. if the spy is acting like the character they are disguised as normally might, there is no reason for the target to think there is a spy, whether they be stupid or smart. It would be more accurate to say you can infer the spy's intelligence from his behavior rather than the target's, but even that is somewhat an idiotic claim.
Once you suspect a spy is in the area, everyone is guilty until proven innocent. Anything less and you are dumber than the other guy.
teekup: Icee has a tendency to call people out on everything
teekup: or try to
teekup: even when it isnt right
teekup: he enjoys contradicting people
friedmetroid [METAL BOXES]: That's the thing, he didn't call me out on anything
friedmetroid [METAL BOXES]: he just quoted the first sentence of my post out of context, misinterpreted it, and posed a smug response
friedmetroid [METAL BOXES]: it's a pretty classic trolling tactic
