There is always a Legendary ending for these games, the shot of Noble 6 is completely obscured by the Elite entering into the frame, and you never see the stab get close to his body, all you see is the arm raise up. Then it shows his helmet sitting in a grassy field on Reach on July 7th, 2589. July 7th is Bungie day, and the date is 30+ years after the end of Halo 3. It's not over yet.
