    Can't really add a horizontal edge loop as it would tighten the edge and it's meant to be curved. Adding more edge loops around the hole just makes a flat face and doesn't get rid of the pinch...

    Fixed it, make a star shape. Still a slight pinch but you can hardly see it.

    The metal ground, never would lie that easily (flat plane), add angles to the metal edges, chamber the edge?

    Don't make it out like that, move it on some more so it seems more enclosed. It has too much the shape of the rest of it.

    Another problem here, how would I get rid of the pinching at the top of this shape as it's on a curve... can't add an edge as it would tighten that curve at the top...

    So, for it to be mathematically correct, you're saying apply the curve to the surface after the subdivision is applied?

    I usually use more segments for the curve. The added segments function as supporting edges.
