What a waste of perfectly good tools. Go find a cave and explore it.

May be a rough on tools, but it's fast.

Plus, I came across more than enough iron to replace any tools I lost... as long as you grab all the iron on your way down you'll have plenty. Actually never had so much iron before. I explore caves as I find them, but I don't dig in too deep around the walls, just stuff I see as I go through. first time I've gotten this deep before, managed to see flat pools of lava for the first time.

Why make something thats suppose to be enjoyment in doing so, a regimented task. I love randomly coming across diamond, but searching within strict parameters takes the fun out of it.

I only ever found a dozen diamond while digging randomly.

Then I stumbled into a dungeon with a single stack of 64 diamond blocks.

So far I've used about half of that on tools and armour, and that was probably a month ago.
