Oh yea, you wont be able to recover your save, unless you backed up.

I just fell from a big tower I made, lost all my stuff, respawned and it had disappeared, fucking I had all my diamond stuff that I had when I found diamond blocks. And my red stone powder, watch and compass.

I had that exact same thing happen, it was out in the open too and all my stuff was gone. Luckily I only had a few iron picks and some cobblestone sorry for your lots Limited ~

EDIT: Punching/hitting the fireballs from ghast's deflects them from you.
