HalfMost of the stuff on there about AKs is bullshit (like cheap nylon slings and loud safeties), but I lol'd all the way.
The mosin nagant was the first high calibre rifle I ever fired. So far, it is also the loudest, hardest kicking, with the stickiest action and a shockwave that is felt not only by the firer, but the firer's friend 5 feet away. The action was so rough on it that I actually thought I was doing something wrong.
I fired a Colombian Mauser like that. Was total shit, sticking to my Enfield.
As an owner of 3 AR15s, I can assure you they are good rifles. Also, its not hard to hit a 10" target at 600 yards, even with iron, flip or red dot; with my 4x acog, no sweat.
They are indeed good rifles.
However, having used AKs, I can say that real AK slings are some of the sturdiest slings out there (irony alert: slings for Western guns are usually made from some type of nylon-derived fabric), the safety can be moved silently, they are accurate when not using shitty ammunition, and magazines can get expensive as hell, especially 30-rounders.
Also, if you want a real real AK, be prepared to spend more than you would spend on an AR-15. They are rare and they are not cheap.
