Singleplayer is decent. I say go through it just for the sake of getting your money's worth. I felt the same one when playing through. I didn't really see where the story was going. The last two missions were fun, though.
I'll gut it out. I remember the reason I didn't buy this when it came out was because I didn't think I would like the single-player. I'm just not a fan of the gallery style of shooter campaign. I'm mowing down Ivan by the Kremlin-full and it's putting me to sleep. Same thing COD does to me.
MP actually has an editable FOV and tight controls, so yeah. SP isn't particularly engaging. Find settings.ini in BFBC2 in your Documents folder, change your FOV in there. Be sure to set RenderAheadLimit to 0 as well. You can set bloom to 0 if you don't like it, too. Pretty decent FPS boost.
So, I'm back from my university. I added most of you who are on the first post to my friends list, and only one of you accepted it. I can play almost anytime. Also, I hooked my laptop up to my 60" TV via HDMI. This is going to be fun... still takes some getting use to mouse aiming at this distance, and for some reason my natural instinct is to assign the center of my screen high than it actually is, making quick sighting on hardcore a little off. Please excuse my bad score:
