Press "C" instead of "V". Works on all vehicles except you pretty much need to fly third person to see everything unless you're really good with the Ctrl key.
I need to work on my air to air combat, probably one of my worse skills in the game.
Exam, I hope you don't fly like that when you have a gunner. So useless.

I fly first person. Flight sim experience under my belt certainly helps with coping, however I wish I could use the hat switch for looking around.
Also, I think it's bullshit that the vehicle alerts you when you've been tagged. It makes it damn near impossible to take out a loitering helicopter if they have the defences on. If they don't have the defences on, they just run away to the other end of the map like faggots until the tracer wears off. Seriously, fucking douchebags. If you fly straight and low enough to get tagged by a tracer, you fully deserve to get shot down.
You're in luck, because I don't. If I'd had a gunner, they'd have been throwing their mouse all over their mousepad trying to keep up. If I've got a gunner, I'll take up a random holding pattern and let them take care of infantry while i go after the occasional tank, vehicle, or dude who wandered into my sights.
If i don't have a gunner, I fly in the most unprefuckingdictable way I can. Not even the AT4 guys hit me much.
The dart is basically a cheap toy for lucky kills against choppers. Don't think of it as anything more. It's balanced perfectly well as it is; getting a lock on a planted dart against a chopper constitutes a one hit kill, fire and forget. The person on the receiving end of a one hit kill attack should always get ample time to avoid it. You just don't get a free kill like that. Work for your kills, practice hitting helicopters making passes above you with the Gustav, or practice with the AT4.
Here, look at how easy it is to hit shitty pilots with the AT4:
