I personally think that the Wii U controller is a pretty cool thing, if you think of it from a developer's standpoint (even though I am not a developer, yet)

This controller has literally everything, here are the specs:

The new controller incorporates a 6.2-inch, 16:9 touch screen and traditional button
controls, including two analog Circle Pads. This combination removes the traditional
barriers between games, players and the TV by creating a second window into the
video game world. The rechargeable controller includes a Power button, Home
button, +Control Pad, A/B/X/Y buttons, L/R buttons and ZL/ZR buttons. It includes a
built-in accelerometer and gyroscope, rumble feature, camera, a microphone, stereo
speakers, a sensor strip and a stylus.
Seriously there is so much stuff here... I bet no developer will use all the features other than Nintendo

It's a DS with one screen. I wonder how much additional controllers are going to cost.

At first I was like but then I was like

The new controller looks cooler than I thought. At first I thought it was going to be an ALL touch screen controller, but seeing that the touch pad acts like the yellow buttons from the N64 and as a menu in general, I think it's a cool innovation Nintendo will add.

iffy. The REAL question for Nintendo is how will the people who bought the wii for the motion controllers adapt to this new controller design?

The weird thing about that controller is that I don't think you can have more than one per console. Steaming wi-fi video from the console to one device is dicey enough. Two to four seems out of the question. Not to mention the rendering overhead that each screen would leech from performance. The Wii remotes are still going to be required for local multiplayer.

If they stuff the best cards of today in it, with a nice amount of RAM and CPU power it should be fine. The real limiter is the wifi broadcaster.

I'm actually pretty excited for Need for Speed: The Run. That whole "get knocked out of your car, jump from rooftop to rooftop and steal a squad car from a cop" thing was an incredible jump from the cg from Underground.

you are the bassest halo-player ever.

halo1 had the best physics ever.
srsly, if they actually changed THAT part of the game, there wouldnt be anything left of what made halo1 halo1.

you know how large the 'best cards today' are right? :P
not only that, but the amount of heat the procude could be a problem as well. (unless advertised as 'NOW WITH CONTROLLER-HEATING, NO MORE HOLD HANDS!!')

I haven't bought a new game for a long time and I probably won't buy one for the foreseeable future other than Mass Effect 3 (only because I planned to buy it since ME1).
yeah, i had this discussion with selentic a while back.
    basically went like this:

    i want my own studio
sel: youll have one some day and make the best games ever
    sel: and then go bankrupt
because people dont want good games
    they want shit like MW

so yeah thats prettymuch how it is now, more developers going over to rapid-fire release model, making more shitty shitgames.
nobody want to play the great games, like Beyond good & Evil for example. that's still one of my most favourite games ever.
yet most people have never even HEARD about it.

and then people go out and buy a pile of hippo-shit like modernwarfare.

    makes me fucking depressed.
