Warthog run ended with tactical nuke finale.

A non-cliche ending would be, say, achieving a tangible objective that is NOT killing the ultimate enemy or blowing up the facility you've been playing on. Say the goal of the game is to get a distress beacon out. Ending would be having the courier ship slip away while you hold the badguys off. Halo: Reach had this type of ending. There was no boss, there was no big boom.

A non-cliche ending would be them announcing that they're finally realizing their stupid fucking mistakes and bringing the games to PC, with proper modding and MP support.

Hey speaking of the Reach ending, what kind of horrible Spartan would let himself get surrounded in a wide open fucking desert to make his "last stand"... They're on Reach FFS, where most Spartans took part in their initial training or some training at some point in their lives. Not to mention that Reach has/had the UNSC's largest and most populated military centers for research and development.

Surely there could of been some better place for him to make his last stand on the planet... The character you're playing as apparently has had some higher than normal operational knowledge about Reach's facilities as well, according to the part where you take to the Sabre.

That ending made me shake my head, regular special forces wouldn't get stuck in a location like that let alone a Spartan...

Um, that part took place right after the Autumn left. You see what there was there? Desert, some busted buildings, and rubble. The place was swarming with Phantoms and Banshees. Six knew that staying to work the gun was a death warrant.

He didn't really have many options since his whole mission was the delivery of Cortana(?) or whatever the fuck its supposed to be hes delivering.

In fact they do a terrible job explaining that and I never really got it. That whole game was a big middle finger to the rest of the canon.

Yeah it was. They fucked Nylund's awesome story, and the icing on the festering cake was "Cryptum."

Also, yeah, he was delivering Cortana. I don't know how you could miss that, I followed the story and thought it actually flowed pretty well.

I'm talking about the part after you deliver Cortana and you just play until you get overrun and die.

I know. That part was only several minutes to an hour or so after the Autumn had left. Where the hell is Six supposed to go in that time? Like I said before, you are in the middle of a damn desert. Any forests nearby are going to be burning soon if they aren't already.

The entire planet is over run.
You have no plan, no back up, no escape what else is there to do other than take down every damned covenant that you can?
