Edit: reason for this setup is because when I go off to VFS (Vancouver Film School), this will become my main rig, instead of a server.

Why did you go with socket 1366 instead of the cheaper and faster 1155 solution out of curiosity? i7-2600k will smoke an EE gen-1 i7.
