    Re: Battlefield 3

is there a difference between enemy downed and enemy killed? i remember in the beta i would "down" enemies.

does down mean they can be revived and killed mean they cant?
E: tactical sun rofl. that was by far the most irritating shit in the beta. im pretty sure that alone is stopping me from buying this game...

    Re: Battlefield 3

i saw it. less terrible, but still terrible imo.

whats the point of the flashlight? from what i saw in the beta and what im seeing on youtube, its sole purpose is to blind your enemy (and usually your team mates too) to make it easier to kill them. so basically, its purpose is to piss people off by giving yourself an obnoxious advantage. i suppose it makes seeing in the dark like in metro a little easier, but why does it still blind you so badly in BROAD DAYLIGHT (see pictures of nerfing)? the first time i got killed by a flashlight guy i was just like "....fucking REALLY DICE? WHO THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA?"
at first i thought that it probably gave your position away just as often as it assisted in a kill, until i heard you could turn it on and off. so basically you literally have an "i win" button. "tactical sun" is not an exaggeration.

its just such an uncharacteristically obnoxious game element for a battlefield game. if it showed up in call of duty, i wouldnt be surprised. in this game? shocked. i would go so far as to say its as annoying as grenade launchers in mw2 (without OMA, of course). now, bear in mind, i only played the beta, and aside from that one picture of the nerfed light effect, i havent seen the nerfed version of the flashlight, so for all i know, it might not be as bad any more. all i know is i can picture myself getting pissed off at flashlights enough that its deterring me from playing this game.

    TL;DR isomad about lights

E: thumbnail on the video i posted above: the screws on the EOTech sight are both rotated with the exact same orientation. ARTISTIC BLASPHEME. you will now all notice that every time you use a holographic sight.

I agree with you man. I hate the laser too, as my team mates are fucking morons with flashlights and lasers.

However; I love the flashlight because snipers and campers are dumb enough to leave them on while hiding giving away positions.

Nope, it's every bit as blinding as it was in the beta Haterz gonna hate, hetzers gonna hetz, flashlighters gonna flash. I don't mind the laser sight. At least you can see the area surrounding the laser sight and fire into the centre of it to hit the enemy. Works best on OM. I've never had it happen to me on any other map.

    Re: Battlefield 3

so it seems like MW3 is trashing BF3 in sales after all.

While I wanted BF3 to do better, I actually am kinda glad, because it could teach EA a lesson. Especially on the PC. While it's not that big of a problem for me, I do know that a lot of people won't buy it unless it's on Steam (and doesn't use Origin at the same time), and also unless the Battlelog is removed/made optional. And of course, I would prefer my BF3 to be registered on Steam and to have an ingame browser. The fact that MW3 is available on Steam was evidently a huge advantage.

    Re: Battlefield 3

its kind of sad really. i feel like ea was really banking on the anticipation for bf3 to push origin, and that ultimately hurt sales and bf3 in general. half my floor bought mw3, and i think the d-bag next door to me bought bf3. all i know is ive been hearing mw3 sounds all over campus all day, and ive only heard the occasional mcom sound from next door.
i guess its because mw3 is *the* game to buy, so people buy it because its cod, whereas battlefield is a game people buy because they want to play battlefield. thats what ive seen at least. everybody in school lined up to get mw2 on the brobox so they could play together, so i cant imagine it was any different this time.

its funny, my dad actually called me today and was like, "we should have bought stocks in activision".
