@Donut: I'm with you on almost every point, except these: how is the XM8 iconic to Bad Company? The HK416 is more iconic, because that's the gun you started the series with. I really missed it in BC2. Also, Laguna Presa was the worst (on Conquest...awesome on Rush). Arica Harbor FTW. BC2 multiplayer 4ever.

That said, if they do a BC3, its campaign better play like the BC1 campaign. That shit was awesome.

I wouldn't say the XM8 is iconic, but it is the gun we saw most during the BC2 campaign and a good deal of some ways into the first BC's campaign. When I think core assault class for BC, I think the XM8 and AEK-971.

WTF you talking about? Laguna Presa conquest for life, mothafucka. That shit was the best. Rush was fun, but stupid sometimes. Laguna Alta was great times as well. Rush on Isla Inocentes was fucking win, though.

well, bc2 was my first serious battlefield experience, so i saw a lot of xm8. id say its iconic to bad company 2. but yeah youre right about the 416 (but thats in multiplayer too ). is there even another game with the xm8 in it? that was my reasoning on that one. either way, i hope to see it return with the m416.

Yes, many. The XM8 would be the most iconic to the Ghost Recon series since it was heavily used in Ghost Recon 2, GRAW 1 and a fair bit in GRAW 2. It's also in other Tom Clancy games such as the Rainbow Six series and Splinter Cell series. It's even in Metal Gear Solid 4 and ARMA II. Those are the major games the XM8 has been used in.

Laguna Presa was irritating because asshats would think it was cool to just sit in the rocks and snipe. That whole map is a sniper's delight. I just stealth-capped things, usually. I will say, Medic + M1 + M1911 on that map is ungodly.

Rush on Isla Innocentes was only fun if your teammates weren't a bunch of fucks who decided to sit in the back and snipe rather than A.) attack or B.) not attempt to defuse MCOMs. God help you if you're defending and you get moved back to the second point. Now you have to deal with three helicopters.

Why does everyone judge maps based on how many people sat back and sniped? You can do that on any map. That's not how you win on Laguna Presa.

I know that. What made it such a bitch on that map was the foliage. Arica Harbor and Heavy Metal were also terrible with snipers, but they were still fun. Besides, Laguna Presa had shit for cover. Lots of camouflage, but bullets went through everything. The only real cover were the shipping crates, the sheet metal fence, and the downed helicopter.

The map was easy to cap on and do well in, but it just wasn't that entertaining for me. I just kind of trudged through it on the map rotation.

Also, notice how there aren't any ghillie-suits in BF3.

theres not really any place for them. the majority of the environments are desert or urban or both.
also, capping C when all the buildings are collapsed on laguna presa is a fucking nightmare. thats why i stick near b. as long as some sniper doesnt drop a motion mine, i can jump over rocks and get behind them for knife and defib kills

Slug Sniping. I do it on Laguna Presa. Just to piss people off. I figure if I have to play my least favourite map, I'm going to compensate by using fun guns rather than the srsnss of the M1.
