Pretty much. At extreme ranges, though, everything was a 2-hit kill unless you made a headshot. That is what separates the faggot snipers on the ridges in Heavy Metal from the damn good ones who pick them off from the middle of the field. With no cover.

I'm horrible with long range sniping in both games so I'm forced to actually move up and engage them at closer ranges. More often than not I run into people who were not my intended target. I let them pass or if they are near me or a close objective I whip out the trusty G18 and go to work

I'm definitely a mid range guy, however when the mood strikes me and I push myself enough, I can land some decent headshots at a good distance.

Still though, my best proficiency in battlefield will ALWAYS be vehicles. I'm typically the "pilot" in the squad. That is, when I can stay in a chopper for more than 5 goddamn seconds. Fuck SOFLAM/Stingers/Javelins.

id say mid - close range infantry / support, but thats if the shotgun decides to work. i have like... MAYBE 40% of my 40mm shotgun shots that are ON TARGET actually do damage (and quite a few of them leave my target at 16% health. its always 16% too). same goes for other pump action shotguns. i just have really bad luck with shotguns i guess.
the support aspect is me being the best god damn medic i can be, by which i mean i will jump out of a 3rd story window and run across a street through the cross-fire to avenge you then rez you. and ill probably do both with the defibrillator.

40mm grenades in this game are easier to land hits than in BC2. I dunno, less projectile drop or something on them. Seems a lot more like COD4 noob toobing. Also, use it to clear the alleyway on Grand Bazaar. One person with it can take out half the forces in there and then a support gunner can set up while the enemies' screens are blurry and then mow them down with a steady stream of bullets. And that's how you clean the rats out of your garage.

Never mind that it's a soldier, but a support soldier holding a c4 detonator in his hand LOL!

I prefer long range usually. There's nothing more satisfying for me than watching someone run across the map when their head suddenly explodes. Personally, I prefer the L96 and M40. But when I do feel like doing mid-range, like on Metro, then I use the SKS
