The reason I edited it out was because after doing some searching, I found that the squad that has the most corruption on them will turn on you. In my case it was Thaddeus. If all squads are at full purity, it is Martellus who betrays the Imperium. I guess since you disliked Avitus, you paid less attention to his corruption level and consequently he was the traitor in your storyline.

Damn these games and their awesome dynamic storylines!

I looked up the corruption system before I started to see if I could influence who the traitor was. When I saw how it worked, I dumped all corrupt equipment on Avitus.
