so when every other program on my computer has no issue connecting, updating, whatever, thats not origin's fault? the least it could do is let me know "hey, having issues with the dns here".

e: is there any way to re-order your items on the scroll wheel? like in bc2, scrollwheel up is pistol, scroll down is gadget. can i do that? or is that just another thing dice fucked with for no reason?

flushing your DNS is not a problem with Origin.

I've heard of a few problems with Origin and its download servers themselves, but never relating to DNS issues.

i am not incredibly network savvy. all i know is that almost every time i go to play this game, i have to perform some sort of technological acrobatics to get origin to actually connect so i can play the game, and i dont think the fix has ever been the same. this time it was DNS, last time i dont even know what it was. i just waited a day and it worked. this has never been an issue for anything else on my computer.

its just irritating to say "hey ive got some free time today, lets play bf3" then have to spend an hour just getting origin to cooperate. im annoyed before i even start the game, and at that point, why even bother?
