Yeah.. I actually tried H2v today because I wanted to play some Halo 2 online. No native widescreen support, custom resolutions give you vert- and weird distortion. Mouse control barely works, even on 10 it feels horribly slow and jittery. And even with vsync I was somehow getting tearing. Fuck that game.
ftfy. They're the ones who promised (and kept it) Halo for the PC and Mac. Without Gearbox, we wouldn't have the Halo modding we love and adore today.
It's MS fault for the way H2V turned out. So without MS, we'd probably have a better Halo (2, sans "Vista").
Also, it would probably be easier for them to engineer the Halo 4 codebase for PC titles than to port Halo 3.
Apple probably would have got into gaming and the Ipod/Iphone/Ishit probably would never have been thought off because Apple would be too busy buying developers everywhere to develop games for their platform.
Think Activision but on a Apple scale with Ubisoft style DRM.
