I can't play vanilla Minecraft, it's so... ugly.
Not that I've been playing much of it lately (mainly because of driver issues messing up other games. Stay classy AMD)

Most of you are expecting us to start a new world for 1.3, correct? Looking over the massive list of changes in this update, it seems that would make sense.
While we're waiting, we may as well start making plans for the new map. Obviously we'll want all biomes on our map, as always. Any other suggestions? Personally I think it would be a bad idea to get rid of the border, for reasons previously stated. I would, though, be open to making the world larger than the previous ones. Any suggestions for a size? I'm not all that worried about increasing the world size because, interestingly, the size (in MB) of our current map is significantly smaller than the Dynmap images for it (which I plan to decrease the size of). lol.
I also think we eventually need to get rid of the teleporter links to the old worlds. We can't just keep building up links to more and more worlds every time we make a new map. It makes the server too scattered. What I can do is link them up temporarily for set period to give everyone an oppurtunity to move their things to the new world. I'd also be willing to paste builds from old worlds into the new world on request. Another thing I may do is upload all of our old worlds (as requested in the past) so you can download them for your own keeping (I have all the worlds going back to beta 1.7).

Yes to the things you said. New world. Can be bigger, doesn't really matter to me; we should have a border though, no reason to have someone walking 2 hours in a random direction to build. Also fine with getting rid of the teleporter to old worlds as long as people have the chance to bring over their old materials, even though I prefer to start fresh with world restarts, I enjoy it more for some reason.
Caaaaannnnnnn'ttttt wait for the server to be updated, come on bukkit.

Also, I would be perfectly ok with NOT having a link to the old world. To have a fresh new world.
as for world size, I dunno. 7500x7500 seems ok to me. The current world is 4000x4000.

K. For future reference, the fact that we're getting a new world does not mean you can blow up whatever the hell you want from an old world.
