You said the same thing about Halo 1 and still made some of the most foolish comments about the game that only a neophyte would. Are you seriously going to try to tell me that this:Ive played through the entire game multiple times
...is not a desert? Sorry kiddo, you don't get dust unless the ground wasn't held down (and it looked like this before the glassing started, mind you). The ground doesn't get held down when there is a lack of flora to do so. You don't get flora because there isn't enough precipitation to sustain it. That's the definition of a desert.
Also, you can argue whether or not its a desert all day long, it's still not a temperate forest at any point in the game despite being described as a temperate forest in every other instance before the game. It's mostly barren in any given scenario unless you want to count human dwellings as flora.
Finally, you are missing the point where I am not intending to debate the levels in Reach, I was just making a somewhat misguided analogy for the sake of describing what I thought about the music.
And for the record, I generally enjoyed Reach's campaign, and I think Halo 4's levels look nice. Sheesh.
So therefore if there is a tree, it isn't a tundra. There are trees, therefore it isn't tundra, especially considering that there is running water. I will concede that Lone Wolf is desert like, though even with it included, half the game is not Desert.
Also, thought I should mention that I wasn't arguing with you Warsaw, and you should also drop the attitude with regards to people who disagree with your opinions.

The definition of a desert is the lack of precipitation below a certain index, not the lack of flora. There are flora that have adapted to survive in such environments.
The attitude is the result of you consistently blundering into threads, taking a look around to see what the currently prevailing points are, and then saying the exact opposite because it amuses you to do so regardless of whether or not you can support or actually believe your stance. I said what I said because you do make comments that belie your claim of experience with the game. There are tons of opinions I disagree with on Modacity, and I don't even trouble with most of them.
You said once that the only effective weapon against the Flood in Halo 1 was the Shotgun. You were flat-out wrong.
You now say that most of the levels in the game are not deserts, and you are still wrong. Apart from Winter Contingency and Exodus, the environments in the game all display biospheres that have suffered from prolonged lack of precipitation. They are deserts. It's not an opinion on what a desert is, that's the definition of what it is. I would also say the opening section of Long Night of Solace isn't a desert, except sand and a bunch of rocks is practically the same environment. Now we just have some water to the left.
