Considering the look of pretty much everything in the entire game has changed from what Bungie laid down (and for the most part was consistent about), I dont think you can really tell who's who. I didn't read glasslands but thats just my observation.

You're forgetting Cortana. And how she's modeled after Halsey. Who looks nothing like that ShadowCrisp Anders whitecoat. Can't really change her without changing the later.

Not really true. Human features change from many things, aging, stress, depression, and other psychological problems. But, AIs such as Cortana, are only based on people's brains, how they think, how smart they were, yada-yada. AIs can choose what avatar they want and change it in subtle ways as time goes on such as aging if they please, but that's not too likely. The AI BB (Black-Box) from the Glasslands book didn't even take a human shaped avatar, but was instead simply a blue cube.
